As they emerged from the pandemic’s shadow, April 30th emerged as the perfect date, being close to their first in-person meeting anniversary. “I was not getting married in the summer, so it seemed like good timing,” she added.

Henda tirelessly toured every prominent wedding venue in the city, only to be met with disappointment. “I quickly realized you almost have to go broke to throw a wedding, and none of the venues truly resonated with me. He selected rich antique rugs and animal hides, combining them with treasured antiques from Henda’s own home and unique items she had collected during her extensive world travels. Even Christopher’s mother’s crystal glassware found its place, ensuring that “everything had sentimental value,” as Shane emphasized. The ultimate goal was for guests to feel utterly at home, yet simultaneously transported to the heart of South Africa.
