They never had formal lessons until they officially joined a swim team; they simply loved the water and took to it instantly. Recently, both of them achieved a significant milestone by qualifying for the state finals in several events, which allowed them to travel to the state championships held in College Station. It was an absolutely fantastic experience for them at such a young age, watching them compete and achieve at that level.

Brian McCary: Given that I was the primary athlete in the family and their mom didn’t really compete much as an athlete, I’m going to confidently say they get their swimming prowess from me! In fact, I honestly believe they are both stronger swimmers than their mom. It’s quite common during our summer vacations by the ocean for Georgia to venture out with me. We dive for sand dollars in waters that are typically 10 to 15 feet deep, and she has no trouble diving all the way to the bottom to retrieve them. Jett is also an exceptionally strong ocean swimmer, showing incredible confidence and skill in the open water. It’s a joy to see them so at home and capable in the water.
