Ronnie Mosley: The Fort Worth Realtor with a Global Heart for Humanity

Spend just a few moments with Fort Worth native Ronnie Mosley, and you’re bound to experience a roller coaster of emotions. You might find yourself with a lump in your throat, moved by his profound empathy and tales of global impact, but you’ll certainly leave with a smile, uplifted by his infectious optimism. And, if you’re a client seeking your next property, you might even walk away with the keys to your dream home – a transaction uniquely infused with a powerful philanthropic twist that sets Mosley apart in the bustling Fort Worth real estate market.

For over four decades, Ronnie Mosley has been a respected and trusted Fort Worth Realtor, building a successful career rooted in integrity, deep community connection, and an unwavering dedication to his clients. Yet, beyond the dynamic world of property listings, open houses, and closing deals, his true calling lies in an extraordinary, deeply personal mission: extending a compassionate hand and critical aid to those in impoverished nations across the globe. This deeply moving journey is a powerful, living tribute to his beloved late daughter, Christina, whose life, though tragically cut short, continues to spark transformative change across continents and touch countless lives.

Christina’s Enduring Legacy: The Genesis of Capturing Grace

The genesis of Mosley’s profound humanitarian work stems from an unimaginable personal loss. In 2013, his cherished daughter, Christina, passed away from cancer at the tender age of 27. In the wake of this devastating event, Ronnie and his wife Carol made a poignant and deeply meaningful decision. They took over Christina’s sponsorship of a child in India, a relationship she had nurtured through heartfelt letter exchanges via Compassion International for nearly a decade. The Mosleys soon received a letter from the sponsored child, revealing the extraordinary depth of Christina’s impact: “Christina was more like a mother to me than just a sponsor.” This heartfelt declaration resonated deeply, igniting a new, powerful purpose in their lives and setting them on an unforeseen path.

“Compassion International then reached out, asking if I would consider traveling to India to share my story, my journey through grief and the profound impact Christina had,” Mosley recounted, a hint of emotion in his voice. “Without hesitation, I said yes. At that point in my life, I would have gone anywhere, done anything, just to talk about Christina, to keep her memory alive and to honor her remarkable spirit. It was a pilgrimage of the heart.” This initial journey marked the beginning of an extraordinary new chapter, transforming personal grief into a powerful, far-reaching force for global good.

That first trip to India was a watershed moment, a truly transformative experience. Witnessing firsthand the profound difference his daughter had made in a young boy’s life, Mosley realized the immense power of individual compassion and sustained action. This profound realization blossomed into a fully-fledged nonprofit ministry, Capturing Grace. Through this innovative organization, Mosley masterfully leverages his lifelong passion for photography – not just as a hobby, but as a powerful tool. He captures compelling, dignifying images of children awaiting sponsorship, simultaneously assisting numerous charities and service organizations with crucial promotional materials and powerful visual storytelling that connects hearts across borders.

“I saw the incredible, life-altering impact my daughter had by simply listening to her heart and taking decisive action, fundamentally changing the life of a little boy halfway across the globe. This revelation profoundly changed my own life, leading to the heartfelt creation of Capturing Grace,” he explains with conviction. “Immediately, it felt as though God was orchestrating trips for me, connecting me with incredible, like-minded ministries worldwide. Since that pivotal moment, my humanitarian journey has taken me to an astonishing 48 countries, partnering with over 50 different ministries and organizations dedicated to global change. I’ve always cherished photography, and I’ve been blessed beyond measure to use this art form not merely to document, but to truly reveal people’s hearts and souls, to highlight their inherent dignity despite unimaginable circumstances, and to forge deep, empathetic connections between those living in incredible poverty and compassionate individuals across the world. Love, truly, has always been the vibrant heartbeat of my photography and the driving force behind my mission.”

Chronicles from Across the Globe: Inspiring Stories of Hope and Connection

Mosley meticulously chronicles his profound adventures and the unforgettable individuals he encounters through his extensive travels on the highly engaging Capturing Grace blog. Each entry serves as a powerful testament to human resilience, the universal language of kindness, and the transformative power of a single act of compassion. Among the many compelling narratives he shares, the story of a young Ukrainian woman named Dasha Shastun holds a particularly special place in his heart. Dasha recently made the courageous journey to Fort Worth to live with the Mosleys and now plays an integral, vital role within the Capturing Grace ministry, contributing her formidable talents to its global mission.

“Obtaining a visa for someone from Ukraine, especially given the escalating geopolitical circumstances, seemed almost impossible at the time, but a genuine miracle happened, and we succeeded,” Mosley shared regarding Dasha’s remarkable relocation to the U.S. “We visited the U.S. Embassy in Latvia, and through what can only be described as divine intervention, God made a way. I genuinely love Dasha as if she were my own child, a sentiment that speaks volumes about her extraordinary spirit, her resilience, and the deep, familial connection we’ve formed.” Her presence is a constant reminder of the profound impact of global outreach.

Ronnie and Carol Mosley are parents to four children, each uniquely touched by the family’s compassionate spirit. Christina was their eldest, whose memory continues to inspire their philanthropic endeavors. They also have two sons, Matthew and Marshall, and a younger daughter named Carissa. Carissa, sharing her father’s adventurous spirit and heart for service, has already accompanied him on impactful humanitarian trips to 11 different countries, showcasing a remarkable family legacy of compassion that extends far beyond their Fort Worth home, demonstrating a commitment to making a tangible difference in the world.

Real Estate with Purpose: A Unique and Impactful Business Model

At first glance, the bustling worlds of Fort Worth real estate and global humanitarian aid might seem entirely disparate, operating on different planes. However, Mosley perceives a surprisingly strong, beautiful parallel – an intrinsic connection between showing homes, capturing poignant photographs of children in need, and the fundamental act of loving and serving people with genuine empathy.

“Selling real estate, at its core, is about connecting with people’s stories, understanding their dreams, and helping them find their place in the world,” he asserts with conviction. “I began to openly share my own journey, my personal motivations, and the profound genesis of Capturing Grace with my clients. Now, when someone purchases a house through me, I commit to sponsoring a child living in poverty for one full year in their name. This unique, heartfelt approach provides me with a precious opportunity to explain why child sponsorship holds such profound significance for me, and to honor the enduring memory of my daughter, Christina, by continuing her legacy of compassion.”

Mosley candidly admits his initial surprise at the overwhelmingly positive reception from his clients. “I was genuinely taken aback by how much my clients appreciated my story and the philanthropic component of their transaction. They recognized that their Fort Worth Realtor was far more than just a transaction facilitator; they saw someone deeply compassionate, purpose-driven, and committed to making a difference in humanity. And, crucially, my own perspective shifted profoundly. I no longer view my clients primarily through the narrow lens of a dollar sign or a commission. Instead, I see them as unique individuals with rich, complex stories, people who are multi-dimensional and deserving of empathy and genuine connection. While it’s undoubtedly a positive business model that differentiates me, that’s not the primary motivation behind it. It’s about finding deeper purpose, forging meaningful connections, and extending grace.” This innovative approach not only distinguishes him in the competitive Fort Worth real estate market but also extends his personal mission of grace into every professional interaction, creating a ripple effect of good.

Ronnie Mosley, now 61, dedicates a significant portion of his year to his humanitarian endeavors, embarking on several impactful trips annually, each lasting up to a month. While many of the larger organizations he collaborates with generously fund his travel expenses, he affirms that real estate remains his “paying job,” providing the essential financial foundation for his philanthropic pursuits. In addition to his work as a dedicated buyer’s agent, he also strategically manages a portfolio of several rental properties, ensuring a stable platform for his global outreach. “When I’m not traveling and deeply immersed in humanitarian work, I dedicate myself fully to my Fort Worth real estate clients,” Mosley explains. “As a dedicated buyer’s agent, I primarily generate leads through popular platforms like Zillow. This allows me to connect with prospective buyers, truly understand their unique needs and aspirations, and personally guide them through the complex yet rewarding process of finding and acquiring their ideal property here in Fort Worth.”

The Profound Connection to Ukraine and Dasha Shastun

In June 2021, a pivotal and deeply significant moment in Mosley’s global journey occurred when he was called to Ukraine. His mission: to capture evocative and powerful photographs for Serving Orphans Worldwide, an organization dedicated to aiding vulnerable children. It was during this trip that he met Dasha Shastun, then 22 years old, an exceptionally intelligent and multilingual Ukrainian woman whose remarkable proficiency in English made her an invaluable interpreter and guide. Little did they know, this initial encounter would forge a profound bond that would soon be tested by unimaginable circumstances and the brutal realities of war.

“At that time, hardly anyone outside of Ukraine, or even within certain circles, had heard of Mariupol. But today, the entire world tragically knows Mariupol as a city utterly transformed into an absolute hell on earth, a symbol of immense suffering,” Mosley reflects somberly, the weight of the words evident in his voice. “The very moment I met Dasha, I sensed an undeniable conviction that God had a truly special plan for her life. There was something profoundly unique about her spirit, her intelligence, and her unwavering determination that immediately stood out.”

Dasha Shastun’s formidable intellect and multilingual capabilities quickly became evident and indispensable. With a Master’s degree from Lviv University and fluency in an impressive four languages, she seamlessly integrated into the Capturing Grace team, proving to be an invaluable asset. Her contributions span a wide array of responsibilities, including meticulous travel arrangements for international missions, managing crucial social media outreach to amplify their message, and conducting sensitive interviews for various charitable nonprofits. Her dedication, versatility, and sharp mind have been instrumental in amplifying Capturing Grace’s global impact and operational efficiency.

“She embodies the extraordinary courage and unyielding spirit of her country and its resilient people,” states Mosley, who, due to the ongoing conflict, has been unable to return to war-torn Ukraine since the full-scale invasion erupted in February. “Ukrainians are a people defined by their relentless hard work, their profound patriotism, and their tenacious resilience. These are qualities Dasha exemplifies every single day, serving as a powerful ambassador for her homeland.”

The unfolding tragedy and systematic destruction in Mariupol has been devastatingly personal for both Mosley and Dasha, whose parents bravely chose to remain in the city despite the escalating dangers. “It’s profoundly different and immeasurably more heartbreaking when you personally know the people caught in the brutal conflict, when you know the streets and the faces,” Mosley explains, his voice heavy with emotion. “Mariupol was Dasha’s home city, the vibrant place where she grew up and built her life. Dasha possesses that rare quality of truly caring deeply for her people and their well-being. When I first met her there, despite being an older man, she extended her hand with genuine warmth and simply said, ‘Let me help you.’ In that powerful, simple moment, I felt an inexplicable, profound presence of my daughter Christina. I don’t fully understand how this remarkable young woman supernaturally connected me with Christina, but she did, and it was a deeply comforting and reaffirming experience, a sign of enduring connection across spiritual planes.”

Earlier this year, demonstrating their unyielding commitment to their mission, Mosley and Shastun traveled together to Romania and Croatia, continuing their vital humanitarian efforts. As an upcoming, crucial trip to Africa drew near, Mosley, keenly aware of escalating international tensions and the growing threat to Ukraine, gently but firmly advised his young friend to make concrete plans to leave Ukraine, sensing the terrifying specter of impending war. “Dasha, this situation could turn very dire, very quickly,” he warned her, urging caution and preparation for the worst-case scenario.

Despite the looming threat of invasion, Shastun, demonstrating her unwavering commitment and courage, proceeded with the planned humanitarian trip, joining Mosley in Zambia and Botswana. “When we finally landed in Uganda, her phone immediately began to flood with urgent, frantic messages,” Mosley vividly recalls, the memory etched in his mind. “Friends and family were desperately asking if she was safe, if she was free. The chilling news followed: ‘The war has broken out.’ Our lives irrevocably changed at that very moment, a distinct before-and-after. Yet Dasha, with incredible resolve and fortitude, continued to execute the humanitarian work we had set out to do, even conducting interviews with people in their humble village huts, a testament to her unyielding spirit and dedication.”

Now safely residing in Fort Worth with the Mosleys, Dasha Shastun has faced the agonizing challenge of profoundly limited contact with her parents, who remained in the besieged city. “They eventually managed to escape from their basement after enduring three horrific weeks without electricity, running water, or gas, trapped in terrible, inhumane conditions and freezing temperatures,” Mosley recounts, relief and sorrow intertwined in his tone. “There was a terrifying four-day period when Dasha had no contact with them at all, and she feared the absolute worst, believing they had perished in the inferno.” In a poignant, daily act of unwavering faith and love, Shastun diligently sends written prayers to her family every single day, hoping to provide comfort, spiritual strength, and a lifeline across the vast and dangerous distance.

“It has been incredibly moving and inspiring to witness God working on their hearts through Dasha and through this harrowing, transformative process,” he shares, reflecting on the deeper spiritual dimensions of their ordeal. “Her parents are currently in a comparatively safer region of Ukraine, where the fighting is not as intense as it was in the brutalized city of Mariupol. However, their future remains profoundly uncertain, shrouded in the fog of war and political instability. Until that future becomes clearer, it’s understandably difficult for Dasha to fully plan the trajectory of the rest of her life, holding a fragile hope for reunification.”

As someone who has recently been on the ground in Ukraine, observing the situation firsthand, Mosley offers a sober and realistic perspective. While he cannot predict the precise outcome of the devastating conflict, he expresses profound belief in the indomitable resilience and spirit of the Ukrainian people. “They have fought tirelessly for their freedom and sovereignty throughout their history,” he asserts. “As the world has now witnessed with awe, they are fierce, courageous fighters, demonstrating unparalleled bravery in the face of tyranny. It’s incredibly challenging to foresee how this complex and tragic situation will ultimately unfold, but their spirit remains unbroken, a beacon of hope against despair.”

A Journey of Profound Faith and Renewed Purpose

Ronnie Mosley grew up in a household steeped in faith; his father served as a minister in a Southern Baptist church, instilling Christian values from an early age. However, he openly admits that it was the unbearable, earth-shattering loss of his daughter, Christina, that truly sharpened, deepened, and solidified his own personal faith in a way nothing else could. “I was exposed to Christianity and the gospel from a very young age,” he explains, recalling a profession of faith he made at just six years old. “But my relationship with God became profoundly personal and intensely real about eight years ago, when Carol and I were navigating the agonizing, soul-crushing loss of Christina. Walking through such an immense tragedy forces you to question everything you believe, every foundation you thought solid. It either unequivocally solidifies your faith, grounding you more deeply than ever before in unwavering conviction, or it can shatter you completely, leaving you adrift.” For Mosley, it was the former, a crucible that forged an unshakeable connection to his spiritual beliefs and ultimately became the wellspring of his global humanitarian mission.

In the darkest, most unfathomable moments of his life, this respected Dallas-Fort Worth Realtor found solace, guidance, and renewed purpose in the timeless principles of trust, unwavering faith, and transformative change. These were not abstract theological concepts but living truths that guided him through his deepest sorrow and became the bedrock of his unwavering commitment to service.

Mosley vividly remembers Christina’s birth with profound clarity. He recounts slipping out of the delivery room, falling to his knees, and dedicating his newborn child’s life to God in a heartfelt prayer. “I could never have fathomed how profoundly prophetic that prayer would become 27 years later, as I held her hand while she took her very last breath,” he reflects, his voice quiet, tinged with enduring grief and deep reverence. “If an experience like that doesn’t profoundly rock your world or fundamentally change the course of your life, then truly nothing will. There are simply no words adequate to describe that kind of pain, that depth of grief, that shattering of one’s world.”

He continues, drawing a powerful and insightful contrast with his professional life: “With all my extensive experience in real estate—accumulating, buying, and selling well over 100 houses, acquiring and diligently managing 123 rental properties—in all the intricate work I’ve ever done in this demanding field, I always believed that if I just worked a little harder, researched a little more, I could ultimately fix anything, solve any problem, overcome any obstacle. But Christina’s illness and tragic passing was something I simply could not fix, could not control, could not negotiate away. That devastating realization utterly disarmed and crushed me, stripping away any illusion of control I thought I possessed over life’s ultimate outcomes.”

Yet, from the ashes of this profound personal devastation, a new and powerful purpose emerged. His unwavering efforts to honor Christina’s memory have not only brought the remarkable Dasha Shastun into the Mosleys’ lives, creating an extended family of compassion and shared mission, but have also touched and significantly helped countless other individuals and communities around the world, transforming lives one act of grace, one photograph, and one sponsorship at a time.

“The core question, in moments of immense, overwhelming pain, becomes: how will you allow this suffering to shape you, to refine you, to mold you into more of the person God intends you to be?” he thoughtfully poses, offering a profound reflection. Ronnie Mosley’s life is a living, breathing answer to that question, a testament to choosing grace, purpose, and boundless compassion in the face of life’s most formidable and heartbreaking challenges. He exemplifies how a broken heart can become a conduit for global healing.
