An Exclusive Interview with Dallas Real Estate Agent Brittney Warren

Interviewer: Brittney, let’s start at the beginning. Where are you originally from?

Brittney Warren: I proudly call Austin, Texas, my hometown – often dubbed the “California of the South.” I feel incredibly fortunate to have been raised in such a culturally rich and vibrant city. It’s definitely where my passion for innovative food trucks, diverse music scenes, captivating art, and an effortlessly Bohemian style truly blossomed. Austin instilled in me an appreciation for individuality and creativity that I carry into my real estate career today.

Interviewer: You began your career in commercial real estate before joining Rogers Healy and Associates. What inspired your transition to the residential side, or as some playfully call it, the “dark side”?

Brittney Warren: Haha, the “dark side” indeed! Yes, I finally made the exhilarating leap to residential real estate, and I couldn’t be more thrilled about it. My background was primarily in the development and property management sectors of real estate. I’ve spent nearly a decade immersed in the Dallas market, witnessing firsthand its incredible evolution into one of America’s most exciting, eclectic, diverse, and rapidly booming metropolitan cities. Ultimately, the most rewarding aspect of this industry for me is making people genuinely happy. Whether that involves facilitating a lease, closing a sale, helping a fantastic new coffee shop find its perfect location, contributing to the construction of a stunning new high-rise, or assisting someone in purchasing their very first home – we are all contributing in our own small ways to the incredible growth and spirit of this great city.

Interviewer: Dallas is undeniably a super-hot market right now, with intense demand for homes. What are some of the unique challenges that Realtors face in such a competitive environment?

Brittney Warren: The challenges are numerous, especially given that Dallas has emerged as one of the fastest-growing cities in America, consistently ranking among the top five best cities to sell a home in. I believe the most critical and challenging task for any Realtor is to differentiate themselves and build a unique, authentic brand. With so many fantastic Realtors in the market, it truly boils down to showcasing your personality, leading with genuine heart, actively listening to your clients’ needs, and simply being your authentic self. My passion for making people happy is what helps me overcome these challenges. Believing wholeheartedly in what you do every single day makes an enormous difference, creating a lasting and positive impression on your clients.

Interviewer: That’s incredibly inspiring! So, where do you call home within Dallas?

Brittney Warren: East Dallas is absolutely my beloved ‘hood! I live in Lakewood, and I am completely enamored with this neighborhood. We really need a bumper sticker that captures its essence – something like “Keep East Dallas Funky!” instead of Austin’s “Keep Austin Weird.” It’s an undisputed Dallas gem, brimming with incredible diversity, majestic old trees, rich history, amazing people, a thriving creative spirit, hidden culinary delights, and an absolutely contagious energy. It feels so alive and vibrant, fueled by passionate residents and dedicated small business owners who make it truly special.

Interviewer: And your daily driver… let me guess, a Range Rover?

Brittney Warren: Is that a trick question?! Haha. Oh, how I wish I could truthfully say I drive a vintage 1974 tan Ford Bronco with a soft top. I’m just kidding, though that would be a dream! In reality, I drive what I affectionately call my “Mom car” – a dependable white Lexus RX 350. Feel free to wave if you spot me out and about! And please, don’t be too cross with me if I occasionally forget to use my blinker… it’s a small, persistent problem of mine!

Interviewer: Beyond your home base, what’s your absolute favorite neighborhood in Dallas, and what draws you to it?

Brittney Warren: I think I might have already tipped my hand on this one – it’s definitely Lakewood and the broader East Dallas area! Coming from Austin, this neighborhood truly feels most like home to me. I believe it offers the most distinctive character and individuality in the entire city. However, the Bishop Arts District runs a very close second in my heart, thanks to its vibrant arts scene, charming boutiques, and fantastic dining options. Both neighborhoods embody a unique spirit that I deeply appreciate.

Interviewer: If you had the ultimate choice and could live in one home forever, what kind of house would it be?

Brittney Warren: Without a doubt, my forever home would be a ranch-style, single-story, mid-century modern residence. Ideally, it would be situated on a few acres, enough space to cultivate several lush gardens, and gracefully tucked back among mature, old trees within a funky, vibrant neighborhood. It would be close enough to walk to local establishments, allowing for impromptu strolls and community engagement. This architectural style, to me, is simply captivating – so beautifully simple yet incredibly versatile. It offers an unparalleled opportunity to showcase striking art pieces, bold statement furniture, vivid colors, and eclectic designs that truly reflect one’s personality. There are no rigid rules or limits with this type of home and design; you can effortlessly hang a fantastic piece of funky pop art right next to an ornate chandelier, all while featuring hot neon pink couch pillows. It truly encourages bright, playful color palettes harmoniously mixed with neutral grays and whites. Furthermore, it embraces natural elements: abundant sunlight, thoughtfully curated landscaping featuring native Texas plants like succulents and yucca, rugged rocks, and expansive floor-to-ceiling windows that seamlessly blend indoor and outdoor living. Add in rustic wood accents, and you have a home that is not just fun and different, but also a deeply personal sanctuary.

Interviewer: As you transition into residential real estate, what are you most looking forward to, and what, if anything, are you dreading?

Brittney Warren: I am most looking forward to the incredible opportunity to work directly with my clients, building genuine relationships and making a profound difference in their real estate experience. My goal is for them to feel so satisfied that they confidently return to me in five or ten years when they are ready to embark on their next real estate journey. As for dreading… that’s a tough one, as my excitement truly outweighs any apprehension. Perhaps the sheer number of miles I’ll be putting on my car! But honestly, there isn’t much I dread. I am absolutely thrilled for this new opportunity and have every confidence that my extensive experience and dedication will lead to a thriving, fun, and deeply meaningful career. I eagerly anticipate both the exhilarating highs and the challenging moments that residential real estate will bring.

Oh, and I’m also super stoked about the promise of free daily cookies that Rogers has assured us will be available in his office – a delightful bonus!

Interviewer: Could you elaborate a little on your perspective when it comes to serving your clients?

Brittney Warren: My perspective aligns perfectly with the core values and philosophy that Rogers Healy instills throughout his company, and it’s ultimately why I chose to join this exceptional team. Our approach is inherently personality-driven and remarkably effective. We lead with genuine passion and profound care, fostering an environment where our clients become an extension of our family. This is such a significant and often monumental life experience – buying, selling, and choosing a home is deeply personal. I feel incredibly privileged to be a part of people’s lives during these moments, to hear their unique stories, and to truly make a difference. My clients don’t just remain clients; they evolve into friends, they get to meet my daughter, and they become a cherished part of my broader circle. I firmly believe in nurturing and continuing those relationships for many years to come.

Interviewer: Prior to this move, how much did you sell last year?

Brittney Warren: Well, considering I was operating on a different side of the real estate world, my focus was heavily on leasing, marketing, accounting, and active involvement in the development process. When my efforts were concentrated solely on leasing, my most successful year saw me facilitate just over $2.5 million in transactions. And that figure is exclusively for leasing residential condos and apartments, encompassing both high-rise and mid-rise properties. This experience has equipped me with a deep understanding of market dynamics and client needs, which I now bring to residential sales.

Interviewer: What words of wisdom do you frequently share with your clients? And what crucial messages do clients often need to hear from their Realtor?

Brittney Warren: I always emphasize that this entire experience, despite its potential complexities, should ultimately be fun and exciting. While I fully understand that the process isn’t always smooth or easy, the joy of finding your perfect home should remain at the forefront. I genuinely encourage my clients to lead with their hearts and trust their instincts – to go with what truly feels right for them. After all, this will be their home, their sanctuary, and it needs to resonate deeply with their personal sense of comfort and belonging.

I also advise clients to approach the search with an open mind. It’s truly amazing what a fresh coat of paint, new flooring, or just a little tender loving care (TLC) can do to completely transform a space. Visualizing how your own character, unique style, and personal furnishings can revitalize a home can be challenging when a property is empty or still occupied by others, but it’s a powerful perspective to cultivate.

Crucially, clients often need to hear reassuring words: that everything will be alright! In a fiercely competitive market like Dallas, it’s all too easy to become frustrated and burnt out, especially when homes often receive multiple offers. Sometimes, taking a step back, trusting the process, and allowing things to unfold as they’re meant to is the best approach. I constantly remind them that their perfect home is out there, waiting for them, and it *will* happen.

Interviewer: If you were to ever change careers for an encore, what would you pursue?

Brittney Warren: Honestly, this *is* it! I have literally dreamt of doing what I do now. For years, I’ve been utterly obsessed with HGTV renovation shows and Bravo’s “Million Dollar Listing” series. If I could just sit down and chat with Fredrik Eklund from “Million Dollar Listing: New York”… I would absolutely die! (Editor: Fun fact! Our very own Candy Evans actually did meet him in Dallas back in 2013!) He is simply amazing, with such incredible personality, undeniable style, and he’s hysterically funny! Not to mention, he sells more real estate than I’ve ever seen. My deep love for real estate and design began at a young age. I’ve always been captivated by driving through neighborhoods, imagining how to transform a space to make it uniquely one’s own, exploring open houses, and combining that passion with the joy of making people happy. It truly feels like the perfect alignment.

However, for some unforeseen reason, if this career path were to diverge, you’d probably find me opening up a restaurant or a food truck. Or perhaps even pursuing a home-based chef venture. Organic, local, and eclectic food is another profound love of mine, and I find immense joy in creating dishes based on how I feel. Cooking is truly my stress relief. I can work a long, demanding day, pick up my daughter, rush home, and the perfect ending to that day would be to pour a glass of wine, put on some Bon Iver, and simply cook. It’s a peaceful, creative escape.

Interviewer: Do you currently have a second home? If so, where is it?

Brittney Warren: My current “second homes” are definitely the park, or Steel City Pops! With a three-year-old, lately, my life revolves around trips to the splash park or delightful outings to grab a tasty popsicle afterward. Oh, and I can’t forget Target too! Those seem to constitute the most perfect day for my daughter, Zoe, and me.

Beyond those essential spots, no, I don’t have a traditional second home just yet. I’m still actively working towards that goal, so check back with me in about five years!

Interviewer: We absolutely will, Brittney! Congratulations on your exciting new venture at Rogers Healy and Associates, and thank you for sharing your incredible perspective with us.
